Seattle Sounders  3:3  Tottenham

DeAndre Yedlin started and played the full 90 minutes against the English Premier League-side.  Clint Dempsey started and captained for 75 minutes against his former club and 21-year-old Sean Okoli came on in the 75th minute to tally an assist on the Sounders’ 79th minute go-ahead goal.

It was also nice to see former USMNT goalkeeper Brad Friedel start and play the first half of the friendly for Tottenham.  Friedel is 43-years-old and signed a one-year contract with Tottenham where he will play a role as an ambassador for the club as well as player.

Oh and by the way, Clint Dempsey will grace the cover of FIFA ’15 in North America.  Sounders fans helped make that news known by unveiling a massive banner with Dempsey’s face on it.

Sporting KC  2:1  Los Angeles Galaxy

Sporting KC announced before the game that Matt Besler and Graham Zusi will sign Designated Player contracts.  This came amid speculation that Besler would make a decision on a new club on Monday.  Besler and Zusi both started the game and played the full 90 minutes.

On the other side of the ball, Landon Donovan started and went the full 90 minutes, while 17-year-old Bradford Jamieson IV made his MLS debut and made it memorable by tallying an assist on Robbie Keane’s goal in the 79th minute.

New York Red Bulls  1:1  San Jose Earthquakes

Chris Wondolowski started and played the full 90 minutes and picked up a yellow card in the 34th minute.  San Jose scored in the 85th minute to equalize.  They sit in last place in the Western Conference, 6 points behind Chivas USA.

Columbus Crew  2:1  Montreal Impact

Michael Parkhurst started and played 90 minutes in the Crew’s first win in their last six matches.  Wil Trapp had to sit out his suspension due to a red card in the previous match.  The Crew play England’s Crystal Palace on Tuesday in an international friendly.

On the other side of things, 21-year-old Jack McInerney started his 19th game of the season and played the full 90 minutes.  The Impact sit in last place in the Eastern Conference with a brutal 14 points in 18 matches.

Chicago Fire  1:1  Philadelphia Union

Sean Johnson was in net for the 21st time this season.  A second half stoppage time penalty goal for Philadelphia gave the Fire their 11th tie of the season in 18 matches.

For Philadelphia, Zac MacMath, Maurice Edu, and Amobi Okugo were all in the starting XI.  Edu and MacMath each played the full 90 minutes, while Okugo was subbed off in the 69th minute.  He picked up a yellow midway through the first half.  The three have combined for 65 starts for the Union this season.

Houston Dynamo  2:2  Toronto FC

Brad Davis started his 11th game of the season for the Dynamo, while Michael Bradley started, played the whole game, and picked up a yellow card in the 79th minute.  Toronto faces England’s Tottenham on Wednesday in a friendly match.

Real Salt Lake  1:1  Vancouver Whitecaps

Kyle Beckerman, Nick Rimando, and Luis Gil were all in the starting lineup for Real Salt Lake.  Beckerman picked up a yellow card in the 17th minute in his 13th start this season.  20-year-old Luis Gil was subbed off in the 57th minute after making his 17th appearance of the season.

Other Leagues

A pair of loanees started for the Indy Eleven as they fell to the Tampa Bay Rowdies 2-1 in NASL action.  Ben Spencer started and played the full 90 minutes, while Victor Pineda started and was subbed off in the 73rd minute.  The six-foot-five Spencer is on loan from Norwegian club Molde, while Pineda comes to Indy from the Chicago Fire.

19-year-old Jack McBean started and played 60 minutes for “Los Dos” as the Los Angeles Galaxy reserve squad beat the OKC Energy 1-0 in USL-Pro action.

In Mexico, Edgar Castillo and Herculez Gomez made their debuts for their new clubs as they faced off against each other.  Castillo started and played the full 90 minutes as Atlas and Tigres played to a scoreless draw in their first Liga MX game’s of the season.  Jose Torres started and played 68 minutes for Tigres, while Gomez came on as a substitute in the 74th minute.
